lost session: why sometimes the session (tabs, groups, etc) are gone and not possible to restore anymore?

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04. I saw it more than once. Firefox is frozen, no WiFi for example, and I have to kill it via terminal. After that it is not possible to retrieve the session (3 or 4 tab groups plus ~20 tabs)
