Just go on the menu-button on the top right corner. Go down to Logins and Passwords Go up into the right upper corner to the 3 dots. Export Logins

What Firefox version are you using ?

Firefox 79+ comes with an export to CSV feature. Firefox 80+ comes with an import from CSV feature.

If you run an older Firefox version and haven't updated for some reason then you can transfer logins.json and key4.db from the profile folder on the old device to the profile folder on your new device.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder. One location for your personal data (e.g. bookmarks) and another location for temporary files like the disk cache, so make sure to look in the correct location.

Csv and json file management is absurd and useless. Browsers need to up their game when it comes to the password nightmare. There is simply no practical or functional way to sync logins between browsers or devices. Google always has out of date passwords no matter what. Firefox is incapable of being set as the default browser. The csv thing does not work for anyone and no basic PC user should have to go that deep into arcane settings and coding.

In current releases you can export and import logins in Lockwise.

Nope.

In current release one CANNOT export logins via a CSV file. Other browsers will not import Firefox logins via a CSV file. These are nothing more than the standard instructions which have repeatedly proven ineffective. The HELP section is overflowing with inquiries on this very issue of the CSV file import not working. The error message from Google/Chrome is this:

"Import passwords To import passwords to your Google Account, select a CSV file. Learn more Something went wrong and your passwords weren’t imported"

You can export a sample logins CSV file in Google Chrome and compare the files to see in what they differ (i.e. check the column names).

I don't have to do that to see that they differ. My Firefox passwords are current and the ones I want to transfer to Google but they won't talk to each other. I have to email and text my own passwords from my PC to my phone to be able to login to apps and pages on Android phone. There is no syncing of any logins and no importing/exporting of anything between Google and Firefox. It's evident that Google is placing obstacles in order to keep Chrome as the default browser.

So seeing as how I shall be forced to use Chrome on my Android phone, I would like Chrome to know my passwords but it will not import Firefox logins. Why won't Mozilla recognize and address this issue with so many reporting the same problem over the course of many years?

Only Firefox on desktop has this feature, so if you use Firefox on a mobile device then you need to use Sync

Yes. That is clear. But neither work. There is no way to manage the exchange, sharing, syncing or transfer of the current Firefox logins to any other device or browser, either between devices or between browsers. All settings, suggestions, procedures and third party applications are ineffective. The problem very much appears to be proprietary commercial interests preventing the smooth exchange due to each service's resistance to losing default status or inability to retain it. The user is the victim of a browser supremacy war.

Under Settings, Choose 'Privacy & Security', Scroll down to 'Logins and Passwords' -> Select 'Saved Logins' -> Select the three dots on the top right hand side of the screen (adjacent to 'Sign in to Sync') -> Select 'Export Logins'

Nobody seems to be grasping that the instructions provided DO NOT WORK. This ticket was intended to bring attention to the fact that Mozilla Firefox Browser WILL NOT AND DOES NOT SHARE OR EXPORT PASSWORDS TO OTHER DEVICES OR BROWSERS.

IF YOU HAVE PASSWORDS SAVED IN FIREFOX. THAT IS THE ONLY PLACE THEY WILL STAY AND CAN BE USED. THEY WILL NOT SYNC AND CANNOT BE COPIED.

A FIREFOX USER HAS TO EMAIL THEMSELVES THEIR OWN PASSWORD TO USE OTHER BROWSERS ON OTHER DEVICES.

UNBELIEVEABLE THAT NOBODY SEEMS TO THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM.

HAVE YOU TRIED YOUR SETTINGS YOURSELF? THEY DON'T WORK.

mozilla firefox browser does not export or share its passswords/logins the instructions provided to do so are ineffective if they worked, people wouldn't be here asking how to export passwords/logins
