I was able to download videos earlier and now I dont know whether I can download or not(I have the latest updated version of the firefox at the moment)

Earlier I think the download would automatically start if there was a video on a webpage that was visited

You have to tell the browser to start the download. Auto downloads are done via special links.

Many of us use download managers. Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
