Two computers, sync, but only one has corrupt extension.json file

I have two computers, desktop and laptop, both running Windows 7 with AVG anti-virus and the latest version of Firefox. Using Firefox sync, they both have the same add-ons/extensions.

And yet, the desktop version of Firefox keeps dealing with a corrupt extension.json file. On the desktop, the extension.json looks its "data", but the laptop version retains it. This happens regularly, and I am getting tried of deleting the desktop copies of "extension.json" and reinstalling all my add-ons/extensions, or because of the sync, need to re-enable them on the laptop.

How can I protect extension.json file on the desktop... If it was a extension, why one machine and not the other?

First, any time one unit in a sinc has problems, shut down the sync until the problem has been delt with.

You're using both Sync and Xmarks? Not a good idea.

I don't understand, please explain what that means.

Sync is for extensions and settings only, XMarks is for bookmarks and passwords only. If XMarks covers extensions, I would go with that.

on my desktop, the contains of extensions.json is "{"schemaVersion":17,"addons":[]}"

on my laptop, the file has data within the "[]" for add-ons
