Under Bookmarks, suddenly 30 listings for identical Bookmarks Bar folder and 30 for identical Favorites Bar folder. I still can't delete them.
My desktop and laptop are synched. Both have Bookmarks Bar 30x, and Favorites Bar 30x, and can't delete. There was no file like the one suggested earlier, as a fix. Please advise as to my options, I have to scroll for miles before I can get to my Bookmark listings.

You need to disconnect the computer from the Sync server before trying to repair the bookmarks.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
