Do you connect to the internet via any other application?

Does the actual internet shut off and is there an indicator that it does.

Or is it just the data transfer that is interrupted.

Hello, thanks for responding. Other apps on my laptop are connected to Internet and working fine...I can happily open edge and access websites with no issues. But Firefox is ok for a short time and then starts spinning and I also get a message from my Yahoo email that 'Internet connection is lost'. Stopping and restarting Firefox is ok for several minutes then drops again.

That sounds frustrating, especially if it happens several times a day. Does the connection only drop in Firefox while other applications and browsers continue working normally? That detail could help narrow down whether it's a browser issue or a network-related one.

Hello, Yes it only drops in Firefox. Everything else is ok with no disruption. Thanks

If you open fx with a blank page can you tell if it still connected after a long wait.

Could it be a specific site that is in the background, some homepage shortcut that is live, like a news feed

How do you know it is disconnected, do you get a message

Hi, I know it's disconnected as all of the open tabs stop working and I get a specific message from the Yahoo email window of 'Not Connected'. I have three pinned tabs and one additional - which I think is a homepage - as this is set in my 'Custom Homepage' in my settings - it's a default company hompage.

Does the setting of these browser features have any impact?

  •  VPN on or off
  •  DNS–over–HTTPS on or off, or picking a different provider

Do you have any endpoint protection, VPN or antivirus or malware/phishing/security software that might be scanning your line that you can try disabling?

Hi All - Thanks for responses ! As timing would have it my company have issued me with a new laptop refresh - So I have now moved everything across to the new laptop and reinstalled FF. So far - I have not seen a repeat of the issue. Old laptop going back - so maybe will never get to the bottom of the problem - but thanks for your time and input !
