How do I stop a SAVED page from "loging out" and going to the website?

I saved a credit report. I have to spend several HOURS reviewing it. Every few minutes it "logs me out" and it goes to myfico.com.

I have to hit the back button, it loads the file again, it takes me several minutes to find where I left off (and hopefully I don't miss an account), and next time I look, I'm back at myfico.com.

I've lost AT LEAST an hour today, cannot work like this.

How can I stop the page from going to myfico?

Thanks much,

Christine

I've saved the pages with Chrome and while I don't like that the images are in a separate folder, it works.

Hi Christine, I suspect there is a script in the page which is causing that problem. Some thoughts:

  • Have you considered printing it, either to paper or a PDF?
  • Do you have Microsoft Word? Try opening the saved page in Word, which does not execute scripts.
  • You could disable JavaScript in Firefox, but that is a global setting and may inhibit work you want to do in other tabs.

Printing to pdf puts page breaks in the accounts / info I need to take screenshots from, printing to paper would do the same thing and then I'd have to scan the individual accounts back in and it would look real crappy (not to mention the time.)

I need to take screenshots as here: http://creditlegislation.org/activists/forum11/45.html

Getting ready for major updates on credit scoring and obviously myFico changed something on their site because I've never had this problem.

So I think it's either disabling java and using another browser for the work (posting the info) or trying to save in another browser.

Appreciate your help!

And if anyone knows how to possibly change the saved page, please let me know.

The easiest way to turn JavaScript on and off would be to install an add-on which adds a toolbar button: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/

Actually, it may add multiple toolbar buttons. You can remove the unwanted ones by right-clicking and choose Remove from Toolbar, which sends them to the unused icon area of the Customize page. (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)
