Hi, I've got an issue with Yahoo search that's just recently started. I would try to search something on their homepage and when I hit enter or click the search button, nothing works. It's like a dead button, it just doesn't work at all. This would happen often, but not all the time. I'd have to exit the page and load a new page several times to get it to start working again. Google's homepage search works fine though so I'm not sure what's going on. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: 3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Hi, thanks for responding. So your last suggestion has fixed my problem, at least so far. Turns out it was my Adblock Plus extension causing the issue, but I was wondering if you know of any way around it? The problem was such a pain to deal with, but I like Adblock and would like to keep it. Thanks!
