Hi,

I have previously been using Chromium browser, but have switched back to Firefox on my Mac, Linux and Windows computers.

I'm currently experiencing a problem with Firefox sync.

My Mac is my main computer. It runs firefox and I'm signed into my sync account. I want to sync everything from my mac (bookmarks, passwords, history etc..) to my windows pc.

Firefox on windows gives me a pair code but there is nowhere on Firefox mac to enter this code.

If i select "I don't have the device with me" I can attempt to sign in to sync on the windows pc using my account username and password. The problem here is I'm then asked for a recovery key.

There is no way to obtain a recovery key from Firefox on the mac. Going into sync and clicking manage account only gives me two options. Either to change my password, or deactivate sync.

Please advise.

Which version of Firefox do you have installed on the Mac?

I'm running version 29.0.1 on the Mac, and version 29.0.1 on the Windows machine too.

Firefox 29 and later use the new Sync version that use a Firefox account and that version is not compatible with the older Sync version used in previous Firefox versions, so you need to install Firefox 29 on all computers.

Pairing isn't used in the new Sync, nor it the Sync / Recovery Key; those are leftovers from a version of Sync that you had before you used Chromium is my guess.

My advice is to set up a new Sync account.
