For the last 2-3 weeks, the browser has been freezing when opening new tabs. This doesn't happen all the time, but the same tabs can open correctly or the browser stops working when they are opened. The work stops for 10-20 seconds. The browser does not respond to clicks, but if you press the Win key, the window turns bright and "not responding" appears on top of the frame. I was trying to solve this problem on my own. I ran it in safe mode, disabled hardware acceleration, updated drivers for the integrated graphics and discrete graphics card, disabled all extensions, created a new profile, reinstalled the browser completely - none of this helped, the browser still freezes when opening new tabs. I also cleaned the download history, changed the proxy settings, and disabled Windows Defender. What else can I try to do to fix the browser?

When I leave FF and open it again after some time I would get a black screen and the app would not show the content on the current page or query a new search for several seconds which gets annoying when doing multitasking

Hardware acceleration is turned off. Firefox does not show the GPU usage in task manager (which is very worrisome in its own right) but when watching a single stream twitch.tv my GPU usage is 60%~100% (which only shows on the GPU tab of task manage). If I close firefox, the usage returns to 0%. The usage also becomes 0% when the stream is not the active tab.

I believe this is a recent behavior change as I noticed it due to it causing games to have low FPS. The excessive usage is also present with only firefox running.

This is happening on a 7800x3d, RX 7900 XT and 32GB of ram.

I also tested on youtube and found it to be using 10% less gpu on average but after while it settles down to ~30% usage.

If I enable hardware acceleration, Firefox uses the iGPU at ~50% usage and still uses 50%~60% of the dGPU. Performance of videos doesn't seem to change whether hardware acceleration is on or off (where as on chrome there is a very noticeable difference).

Used Chrome for sanity checks and it does not affect games FPS while using on average half the GPU usage of Firefox. Chrome also reports it usage in task manager correctly.

I suspect Firefox may be calling GPU encoder\decode hardware incorrectly and always using hardware encoders\decoders regardless of the hardware acceleration setting.

For some reason, opening the tab list on Firefox and Firefox Beta on Android takes 4+ seconds and it's very annoying.

This is on a completely fresh install of Firefox with literally no changes or tabs. It doesn't matter how many tabs I have. It takes about the same amount of time with 0 tabs or 100. This didn't use to happen with Firefox versions from over a year ago. There's something about the new method that caused this for me.

I'm on Android 10 on a Galaxy Note 9. Nothing else (meaningful) running in the background or anything.

When i am trying to copy the link or share the webpage to somewhere in my android(samsung). It got stuck not like working, but it did not copy or open then sharing window instantly it takes time to open the sharing window or link to copy, it have to send firefox to background and when I came to it then it do my work, so it is so messy so I have to go for other browser most of the time.

Somtimes consistently letters duplicate when i type some sequence of letter on the address bae only. It works normaly anywhere else in firefox except that and my whole device.

This happened a few years back after a bad update. When I am on forums, Multiple sites) etc, I will be in the middle of typing a sentence and suddenly it scrolls to bottom of page. 100s of times this has happened. I have waited for a month for a corrective update but will have no choice but to permanently leave firefox if not fixed soon.

Ctrl key is shrinking my pages , unable to use any shortcuts due to it. Happened just now after the newest update to 152.1. It happens on every page. Also Login drop-down won't stay open long enough to select anything, it open and immediately closes.

Good morning from the UK. When I loaded my laptop this morning there was a message saying I need another firefox, I get worried quickly and didnt take a screen shot .

I am on windows 10.

I have notice that the laptop is very slow on loading everything.

Please help me and advise...I'm not computer savvy sadly.
