Hotmail will not automatically download new email when Hotmail window is open
When logged in to Hotmail using Firefox, new emails do not automatically download. In order to see if I have new email I have to refresh the window or click the Inbox link in the window. I tested Hotmail using Internet Explorer and Avant Browser and it works correctly on both.
I cleared all cache in Firefox and it had no effect. I also started Firefox in safe mode and that had no effect.

hello jakebe2, unfortunately this is a known regression in firefox 13 - there's nothing you can do on your end at the moment in order to troubleshoot the issue. but expect a fix in the coming few days...

This is a bug caused by the usage of globalStorage that is longer supported in Firefox 13+.

I don't know what GlobalStorage is but will the bug be fixed soon? This is irritating not knowing when I have new email.
Firefox 13.0.1 is scheduled to be released on Friday 2012-06-15. It will include a fix for the Hotmail issue along with a few other updates.

The bugs still have a status of new, so it is not sure that the bug will be fixed in time.
