Click on something below the Get Add-ons menu item on the left side of the Add-ons Manager tab.
That's the first thing I did and it didn't work.

Click on Extensions or Appearance or Plugins in the left panel of the Add-ons Manager tab.
The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab, when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which is currently overburdened due to users, and the update process for Firefox 6, checking for updates.
If you need to look for new Add-ons, go directly to the Add-ons site and use the search box on that page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
Check and tell if its working.

Do you mean that nothing happens if you click the Extensions tab or one of the other tabs on the about:addons page?
