I have downloaded version4, saved in downloads, but how do I install it???

I'm using Ubuntu. I can't find how to install the new Firefox, although I have downloaded and unpacked the updated version. There is no obvious "install" option. I also don't seem to have an applications folder, the downloaded version is located in Downloads at present, please advise as I'd like to try the latest Firefox. Currently using Firefox v 3.6.17 although I have downloaded ~"A Web Browser" trying to resolved the prob, no difference. Thanks.
