I believe the Read aloud feature is available already on Desktop. On the AI enhancement, you may want to post your idea on https://connect.mozilla.org/ to document it as a feature request.

Yes .. my question was never about the Read Aloud feature, which I do use and love. I was wondering if any have much knowledge of what'all the AI types/agents can do - which Firefox lists as accessable to use through it as well. Sorry if I might have been confusing. I wasn't sure if this was a forum situation here, and that someone might have more intel about AI than I. TY.

Got it! At the moment, Reader Mode doesn't use AI, so this isn't something that's currently supported.

If you'd like to see a feature like this in the future, I'd encourage you to share your idea on Mozilla Connect, our feedback platform. That's the best place to suggest new features and let the Firefox team know what's important to you. This community forum is more about product-support.

MOZILLA already is offering some AI - if you can see this screenshot of its listing of one/& more. So I thought it might know more about these it chooses and directs to. Saving screen time. That's all. TY for your time./Mary. *see pic

Firefox does include AI-powered features. For example, you can use the AI chatbot in the sidebar, which can help with tasks such as summarizing web pages. However, Firefox lets you choose from supported third-party AI services, so the AI experience itself is provided by the service you select.

In your case, it looks like you're using Claude. Claude includes its own Read Aloud feature, which you can access by clicking the speaker icon below the response (see the screenshot I include below).

Since this is a feature provided by Claude rather than Firefox, Mozilla doesn't have control over how it works. If you have questions or feedback about the Read Aloud feature itself, Claude's support team would be the best place to reach out.

Thanks Kiki I'll check in closer on what Claude offers soon. However your screenshot just came through as mostly all black to me. I'll watch for that icon ... somewhere. (I seem to have too many irons in the fire .. lately. So .. goin' slow.) ... Mary.

I was using dark mode, so it looks like it's mostly black. Please check the attached screenshot instead. I use a red circle to highlight the icon so you can easily see it.
