Hi,
I’m sorry to hear that your Firefox tabs keep crashing. Since the classic troubleshooting steps haven’t helped, here are some more detailed instructions to try:
Describe exactly which tabs are crashing: is it specific websites, all tabs, or only heavy pages (like video streaming or complex web apps)? This information helps narrow down the cause.
Send error reports if prompted by Firefox. You can also manually check reports at about:crashes. Open that page and you’ll see a list of crash IDs. Please copy the most recent crash report identifier and share it with us so we can analyze it.
Regenerate Firefox (refresh Firefox): This creates a new clean profile while keeping your essential data like bookmarks, passwords, and open tabs. Go to Help → More Troubleshooting Information → Refresh Firefox. This often fixes repeated crashes caused by corrupted settings or extensions.
Create a new profile via about:profiles if refresh does not solve the problem.
Disable hardware acceleration: Settings → General → Performance → uncheck “Use recommended performance settings,” then disable hardware acceleration.
Test in Troubleshoot Mode (Safe Mode): Help → Troubleshoot Mode. This temporarily disables extensions and custom settings to see if they are causing the crashes.
Check system resources and drivers, especially GPU and RAM, as hardware issues can cause crashes.
After doing these steps, please send the crash report ID from about:crashes. This allows us to look directly at the crash logs and provide more specific guidance.
Hi Kami, Thanks for your assistance.
The tabs that keep crashing are mainly Roundcube webmail (my email), YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and even Google Drive when I try to upload files.
I’ve already tried disabling hardware acceleration, running troubleshoot mode, and reinstalling Firefox—none of these helped. I’ve also run extensive system checks (HD for errors, RAM, chkdsk, SFC /scannow, DISM, etc.), and everything looks fine.
The only thing I haven’t tried yet is creating a new profile, though at this point I doubt it will help. Would you like me to paste the crash report here?
Best regards, Alex
We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
Thanks Paul, Here is the report ID's.
