After last update, more that 5 open tabs cause computer to freeze
When I have multiple tabs open, around the 6th tab, the entire computer freezes. I have to press the physical button to shut down and restart. This behavior started with the last Firefox update. It doesn't happen when I use Brave browser. What changed to cause this?
I'm running Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint mint 100 - 1.0 version 141.0.3 (64 bit) on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon. These are the latest versions of Mint and of Firefox for Mint.

Hi Rhonda,
We have a similar problem reported recently https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1983428 which may be related to this, though I'm not 100% sure.
Do you have the exact steps to reproduce the issue?
Yes. The exact steps are: 1) Open a website. 2) Open links in it as new tabs. 3) Get to about 6 open tabs total. 4) Try to enter info or otherwise use the page in one of the tabs. 5) Wait and swear as the page becomes less responsive until the computer freezes up. 6) Long-press the mechanical OFF button on the computer to shut it down because nothing else works.
Can you reproduce this issue every time, or it can't be reproduced some times? And, what's your displaying server and window manager? edit: like x/wayland, i3/hyprland

I think it happens every time. I've started using Brave Browser a lot because of it.
With regard to "what's your displaying server and window manager"? Uh, what's my what???
Rhonda, can you update to 142 and see if it may fix this issue?
I am running 142 and it is still happening.
Aha. Ok, well..
We added the following line in the 142 release notes under the Unresolved section:
Multiselecting non-contiguous tabs to drag may result in toolbar unresponsiveness or visual glitches. Dragging any single tab should resolve this. We will be landing a fix in the next dot release with Bug 1984342.
The dot release is planned this week, so please keep an eye on our update soon!
