Remove/disable Alt+Number for changing tabs

All of a sudden Firefox started to use alt+number (e.g. alt+3) to switch to that tab (i.e. tab 3 in my example).

Why? How do I disable this? It prevents me from typing any of the special characters that are located on alt + any number key. E.g. I can type the at-sign, not the dollar, or any such character which requires the alt-modifier and a number.

This is strange. Alt +1 to 8 in Linux was default key combination to switch tabs for more than 15 years. Perhaps even since the beginning.

Issue is when they don't "disable" upon activating an input field. I don't know why this happens.

It should be noted that it "fixed itself", for some reason after me posting the question. But even so, it might be helpfull if there was an option to disable the alt+number shortcut for tabs in such cases.

And now it's back to not being able to type the at sign, because it's alt+3, which now switch to tab number 3 instead. I've never had this problem before, and I've been using Linux for the last 10+ years, and Firefox for as long as I can remember.

Snap version of Firefox, dunno if this might create any issues with keyboard inputs?
