Whenever I’m in a tab where I searched something and I click the three dots the app crashes and closes making it impossible to save bookmarks and etc when having a tab open. But when I’m on the home page it works fine. This is only a problem on my iPad since I first installed the app. My iPad is on the newest iOS update and so is Firefox, also have the latest iPad.

Hi

I am sorry to hear that Firefox for iOS is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your iOS device and Firefox for iOS to the latest versions available.

As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?

If this does not resolve the issue, open the iOS Settings app, select General then iPhone Storage. Find Firefox and select Offload App. Does this help?

Failing that, we will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for iOS. This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.

I hope that this helps.

Hello Paul! I appreciate the respond. Unfortunately I can’t put any of the two files (crash and bug file) into GitHub. It won’t let me import them.

What happens when you try to upload them?

Hey! I’ve seen issues like this before with Firefox on iPads — especially related to UI bugs when interacting with open tabs. Since it only crashes when the tab is active (but not on the homepage), it could be a glitch with tab rendering or memory handling.

You could try this:

Go to Settings > Firefox > Clear cache/data

Reinstall Firefox completely (not just update)

Also try disabling “Open tabs from last time” in Firefox settings (if enabled)

If it still crashes after that, it might be worth filing a formal bug report through Mozilla’s feedback form.

Hope this helps!
