If you are no longer getting Firefox updates in your package manager on Ubuntu then that likely means your version of Ubuntu is EOL with no more package updates.

You can update to a current version of Ubuntu to have updates packages like Firefox.

Or you can learn the basics of using the Firefox Linux tarball from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/desktop-release/

The tarball is basically an archive as you just extract it and run the firefox script or firefox-bin to start Firefox. You need to make sure the Firefox folder has read/write permissions for the user account to get internal Firefox updates (like Firefox on Windows and macOS) as an easy way is to have the firefox folder in /home/

You can created a desktop launcher shortcut to the Firefox script or firefox-bin and a Firefox icon you can use is located in firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/ folder.
