Page refresh problems not covered elsewhere Firefox ESR 115.9.1
Goodd day from UK I run firefox esr 115.9.1 and find the the F5 refresh key does NOT refresh the images. The same applies when using the "reload" icon in the menu.
Reading other posts, nothing seems to apply here.
There are NO add-ons at all and everything is cleared on close. The text DOES seem to change.
As a web developer checking updates this is extremely annoying as only hope is keep closing the browser (to clear everything) and restart - the loads new images etc.
I use several versions of Firefox (2, 20, 56) to ensure compatability with olf browsers and it seems to be only those over 100 with this issue.
Does anyone know if this is a "feature" or a"bug" and is there any simple (!) way around the issue?
Thanks
p.s. ALWAYS happens, not intermittently

Firefox can be a bit tenacious with cached content. Try a reload that bypasses the cache, either:
- Shift+click the Reload button
- Ctrl+F5
- Ctrl+Shift+R
Also, I don't think you will find anyone using Firefox 2 at this point, and probably not Firefox 20, either.
Thanks for answer, yes Ctrl/Shift/R works, but can't understand why (a) the reload icon (round arrow) AND keyboard F5 refresh text but not images - seems like a very weird thing.....maybe a coder from the team can explain why they have done this as seems hardcoded (tried on several machines) rather than a bug!!!!!
I use FF20 (sorry not 2 - a typo) as I code very simple, fast pages (not load heavy wordpress etc) and like to see if they are backward compatible - a foible of mine!
I do use 52.9 est all the time though as sadly was the last version of Firefox that supports live streaming on Hikvision webcams - of which we use a lot - they need the I.E. plugin .ocx to work - and not repalcing dozens of cameras!!!
Next issue will be the dropping of Windows 7 support as 95% of my customers still use W7 because it is more stable and usable than 10 or 11 and providing use is careful, just as secure.
Anyway waffle over, but would like an answer as to why this "feature" has been added because surely RELOAD meands RELOAD?????
ps. just seen the typos. 59 ESR.
Of course Firefox has to reload the page itself. However, it's more economical from a bandwidth perspective and gives the appearance of better performance if Firefox does not reload the linked assets before they reaches the cache expiration date indicated by the server. It affects .js, .css, and other files, too, not just images.
Some CMS's work around this by adding a query parameter containing a last updated timestamp to all src and link href URLs in the page. That way, the browser has to fetch everything when the page is updated. But if you are coding manually, that's not very practical.
Regarding an IE plugin for Firefox 52 ESR, I think it would be safer to use IE11 for the cameras. Hopefully Microsoft didn't remove it when it reached EOL.
