To paraphrase Willie Nelson "The last thing I needed, the 1st thing this morning" was to open Thunderbird & be presented with a form that I needed to fill out as if I was just signing up for the service, filling it out, going to my Inbox & finding everything gone. This is actually the 2nd time this has happened after an update. I have a feeling that my emails are buried deep inside my computer. Can you help me exhume them?

I'm trying to type while humming along with Willie. My guess is TB presented you with a form to apply for an email account? This sometimes happens after an update when TB can't locate your email account. This is usually result of anti-virus interfering with the update. Anyway, on that startup page, ignore the email request and click the 'home' tab at top. Assuming you're using Windows, right-click near the top and activate 'menu bar'. Then, click help>moretroubleshootinginformation, scroll down to Profiles, select 'about:profiles' and you should see your profile there. Click to activate it and you're all set. Let me know if this doesn't work.
