fund raising
Have been asked to fund Mozilla via Thunderbird email
I have done so in the past, but not again due to confusing changes to the front end's appearance, it has been almost unchanged since I began using Thunderbird in the early noughties. I would like to have the choice of what others would call the "classic" look. Can I restore that 'shape and feel', by modifying prefs.js?
The wide spacing of the inbox and removed seperation lines, similarly the folder list means more screen area is needed than old style.
Sending CC or BCC is confusing, requiring a comma between names. If CC is selected BCC disappears or if BCC selected first then CC disappears. I sent a bunch of contacts a BCC message due to this which caused much confusion. I would prefer to see the CC and BCC entries restored as seperate boxes below the initial recipient field. There are other niggles, for that reason I have resurected a 12 y.o. laptop which has a version of Thunderbird in the 60's and disabled update notifications. Unless advice on a means to enjoy "classic" look with latest Thunderbird releases is forthcoming, my other PCs will be regressed to the earlier version.

Spacing in the Folder and Threads Panes can be adjusted with userChrome.css:

The Cc and Bcc boxes can be shown by default with the Nostalgy add-on.
'Classic' icons can be applied with either an add-on or css:
