hi today thunderbird started showing yahoo popup login and after adding credentials i always get "something went wrong.We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device." Also popup once closed it opens instantly.

i can sign in normally from browser. thunderbird version is 147

is there any fix about this?

I have tried numerous times to enter an account into thunderbird with a password fail notification each time. It is the correct password as it works on my other mail accounts. also the correct email account is entered with the correct spelling etc. There is also a box beneath the password that says "log in" I have no idea what they mean by this. I have not encountered this before. I am using an HP Omni Book Ultra 14inch. running Windows 11. I have installed Thunderbird on several other devices without this problem.

I do not store my passwords. I type them in every time I log in. It's the only way to remember passwords: type them in every time to reinforce memory.

I want to see my passwords when I type them. I don't want a click option to view them. I want to be able to see what I'm typing every time all the time.

I've been a contributor for a number of years. Please create an option to support my request.

If you need me to program the change, please let me know.  :-) I suspect that it is simply a matter of turning off a property on the entry field. This is my third request.

When I run the installation software and input my gmail account details the system responds with an error "Authentication error". can you please help me to reconfigure the set up to resolve this problem. 3 дня назад перестали приходить письма - вышла ошибка авторизации. Пароль точно верный (через браузер все работает) и работает Thunderbird на другом ПК. Снес мозиллу, касперского, пробую заново создать почту, не дает, смотрите скриншот 1. Потов выдает ошибку смотрите скриншот 2. Вообще не могу понять что не так! На другом ПК все работает. переносил профиль с другого ПК на свой все тоже самое - ошибка авторизации. Куки разрешены, в исключения gmail.com добавил в Thunderbird Куда копать, что искать?

To open Thunderbird I must enter a primary password. This is driving me NUTS. When I open the program, I want it to start without having to remember a password. Also, if something happened to me, nobody else in my family could open the program without knowing the password and how to find it if needed. After many decades of using this program for email, this primary password nonsense has become a great annoyance. FIX THIS STUPID PASSWORD PROBLEM. Please.

Sending of Password fails

As so many have experienced, but I have yet to find the actual solution, I will bring up the issue.

I recently purchased a new computer. Installed Thunderbird, created all the mail accounts I have and... no problems. All the accounts, once created, populated with emails. For 3-4 days, there were no issues.

Important to note: I let TB use all the default settings. And once everything was up and running >>>>I did not change anything<<<<<.

Then a few days later, I started getting the following messages for two accounts that had migrated from q.com to myctl.net. Entering the 100% proven-correct password results in the know endless-loop of entering the password and the same pop-up error message. The PW is 100% correct as I can go to Centurylinks' website and login using that same, exact password and read my emails.

I've spent enough time trying all the suggestions here, reddit, facebook etc so I'd thought I'd see if anyone has actually found a solution.

I am trying to add one of my Google email accounts to Thunderbird. It brings up the "Sign in with Google" window, which is normal. But instead of "Sign in to continue to Google...", it says "Sign in to continue to Mozilla Thunderbird Email". Which then generates an error: "Error 400. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know." I've not ever experienced this issue before; adding a Google account has always been super easy and straightforward.

13 Nov. I have been dealing with the problem of the requirement to sign in to Thunderbird using Google. It does not work. I enter my e-mail address, click next, and get a second window that says "Error 400". I tried to get some help with this through a company listed on the internet as Just Answer. That turned out to be a scam.

Someone called me this morning, offering to help me with this problem. The person was from the company The Web Services. While the technician from Web Services was working on my computer for a while to restore my Thunderbird files, he told he that they kept losing the internet connection to my computer. He said they had determined that they kept losing the internet connection, because some hackers were hacking into my computer, while they were working. He showed me a lot of evidence of hacking on my computer, indicating that the 2 technicians from Just Answer who had helped me the day before through long chats were hacking into my computer the entire time they were chatting with me, going through steps they said would solve the problem with having to sign in to Thunderbird using Google. I think the people from Just Answer had tried to create a Thunderbird back-up profile, but had not done it correctly. As a result, all the data within Thunderbird was lost. I cancelled my subscription with Just Answer today.

The technician from The Web Services was able to restore my Thunderbird, including the many local files I have. Some additional formatting of the site still needs to be done, and the correct server settings need to be set up. That is to be finished tomorrow morning. The Web Services person also sold me an anti-hacking firewall, which is supposed to also provide network security.

I am concerned, because on the Mozilla support page, it specifically states that Thunderbird does not offer phone support. I gave this company access to my computer today, so they could restore my Thunderbird files. The Thunderbird files have been restored. Now I see that the issue with trying unsuccessfully to sign in to Thunderbird using Google is still there. So I am right back where I started over a week ago, trying to find someone who can solve the issues that come up when I try to sign into Thunderbird with Google.

I am somewhat suspicious of the company The Web Services, because they called me and offered to fix the problems I am having with signing in to Thunderbird. Please let me know whether it was unwise to let them work on my computer today. Could this be another scam? Thank you.

e-mail account connection process goes this way: - I enter name and e-mail address - I confirm standard configuration found in Thunderbird's FAI database. - Google asks me to confirm that I authorise Thunderbird to share mail, contacts and agenda informations (I was asked my Google pwd only the first time I tried the process). - I confirm my consent - Back to Thunderbirds account configuration window, with "authentication error".

Similar failure when I try to only connect to the contact list or to my calendars (which is my initial will), also from a scholar Google account.

No change after update from 149 .0.2 to 150.0
