Hey wingerter,

Are you talking about the addons toolbar that was at the bottom of the page? That has actually been deprecated in Firefox 29. Instead addons are now treated as first class citizens. They can live in the main toolbar or in the new quick menu (vertical bars on the right). There are a TON of cool new things that addon developers can do in the new Firefox, they just need to take advantage of these features!

If you really prefer the old bar, this article can show you how to bring back the old look.

That is not quite true. Some add-ons defaulted to the add-on bar for their icons. But without it, those programs are unusable or not compatible. For example; Forecastfox Weather.

Well, I just came back to Firefox after several years of using Chrome. Within a day or so Firefox updated to this new version and I got into this roadblock--nice return welcome gift! I found The Addon Bar (restored) 3.1 and got one of my add-ons back that wasn't available in the Customize section.

I agree. This is so frustrating. It seems that Mozilla has adopted a change for the sake of change attitude. After upgrading I spent 15 minutes finding out how to close Firefox. Is there any performance improvement by removing the "X" in the upper right? Does having a status bar make the browser less secure? Is this a cosmetic change because it's gotten too hard to improve performance or security. It's gotten to the point that I don't want to update Firefox anymore.

yes, agree.

I have same problem too, status bar is use for display like time, weather, ip address those info. You guys want to copy Chrome, just tell us go to Chrome, I am really not comfortable to use v29.

BTW, FEBE is missing too.

The add-on bar was removed during the last update by Mozilla for reasons no one understands. In some cases leaving lots of icons homeless.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for an add-on bar.

Many of us are using Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

This will restore many of the things the last upgrade took away.

GIVE US THE STATUS BAR BACK!

Why are you fucking around with FF so much? Why can't just leave alone some of the basic features? First there was status bar. Then it was deprecated for "God knows what the fuck" reason. Then there's add-on bar and that's deprecated too for "God knows what the fuck" reason. And now you call the add-ons first class citizens and place the buttons right up the top in a PILE OF ELEPHANT CAKES!

How much stuff do you think is going to look good up there? I have tens of add-ons and they all looked so nice in the status bar. Why did you remove it? And, why isn't there an option to restore it back? You've completely annoyed the fuck out of some of us!

GIVE US THE STATUS BAR BACK!

Charlie: Firefox is secure, looks good and doesn't need improvement. Tom: That's nice!

Charlie: Nah, we need something to do. Tom: Getting bored Charlie?

Charlie: Yeah, sort of .. how about, we remove the status bar? Tom: And why do that?

Charlie: Be fun to watch some crybabies :D Tom: Haha, yeah, they'd be farting bricks!

Charlie: Okaaaaay ... Gone! Tom: Check on the forums, they're already here to entertain us :D

Charlie: Whoa hahaha! Look at that moron crying! Tom: Hehehe, this is fun! Let's roll some dweebs!

I don't see how taking things away is considered an upgrade. That comment shows how clueless Mozilla has become.
