Hi,

Please try installing Simple Mail in a new profile. Alternatively you can also install it by searching via Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons, search box on the top right. If the new profile is okay, you can later copy the needed personal data from the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in another location separate from its files/folder. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings (Tools (Alt + T) > Options, and about:config ), and usually would also be empty of any Extensions and themes (Appearance) in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. Also, a new profile would have no previous stored website data/settings etc., (Tools > Clear Recent History).

Well- funny thing- I just did exactly that (new profile) and the email icon just flashes when it's supposed to check... not even pretending to check so no go..

Apparently I've permanently corrupted my ability to use this extension on this computer. Are there any known conflicts? Other extensions or programs that can interfere with the function of this?

I just deleted the accounts then removed simple mail. I then reinstalled the add=on and set up the account again and just a flashing icon suggesting that it's trying to check the mail but doing nothing.

Fixed.... aaaaand the culprit was....

Java quick start. Removed it and everything seems to run fine.
