Location of NEW TAB opened in Firefox

When i open a new Tab, it gets inserted at the last. I want it to be placed next to the current tab and not at the last.

That preference isn't in Firefox 3.5.x versions, it is a new pref added for the 3.6 versions. You need to upgrade to 3.6.12 to have that feature.
