hi, i am trying to remove an email account from Thunderbird app that i added but the "Delete" button in account settings isn't working at all! when i click it nothing happens. i select the account but when i click the delete button nothing happens

I've never seen this issue on any of my Macs nor with any Thunderbird version. You can still try to delete this account after starting your Thunderbird in "troubleshoot mode": press the Alt (Option) key whilst launching Thunderbird https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird
