Windows don't load after and hour of use. v154, Mac

jvbeaupre

For the last few days after an hour (or so) of use, browser windows try to load but don't finish. I checked the Mac activity monitor and see that FirefoxCP webextensions is hogging memory--8GB! MacOS 26.6.2, Firefox for mac 154.0.1. Did the same thing for MacOS26.5.2. Is AI doing in performance? How can I find what to turn off?

Can you disable the extension one by one, or all and then enable them one by one?

I see this problem has occurred year ago too

https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/rxuo2e/what_is_firefoxcp_web_extensions/

Are you using the isolated options

Restart into Troubleshoot Mode (from Help menu) and see if there is any difference after similar time has elapsed.

I restarted in the troubleshooting mode. After a longer period of time, windows started to take longer and longer time to load. Minutes or more. This problem is still active.

And the WebExtensions process is still the culprit even in Troubleshoot Mode, or the system resources look different at that point?

What happens (apparently) is web extensions splits many 10 or more separate threads (?) that still use a bunch of space when combined. But I haven't seen any total firefox thread greater than 3 or 4 GB. Still puzzled.
