Recalling Emails
Why doesn't Thunderbird have a recall feature where I can recall and given sent email like those in Outlook and Exhange has?
You know there is good reasons for wanting that ability and be supprised to see how many people wish they didn't send that email.

That's a special feature of Outlook and Exchange servers, which is not part of standard email servers. Here's an article about why it works in that environment and not in the "real" world. AI's description of the feature mentions that, "[it] works only if both you and the recipient are using Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft 365 within the same organization."
I fully understand that and your missing my point as I have been in IT for 4 decades and I fully aware why has thunderbird put this feature in and my theory is thunderbird is not willing to work with the other vendors to make those agreements happen example I use Gmail and yahoo and soon others I won’t name right now. Get those to vendors to agree since customers are using those system to develop there own like Microsoft has done if I have a Microsoft account I can likely use that feature all thunderbird really is a very good glorified wrapper to those email services.
Your response valid and grateful for the reminder all these vendors do is keep you, me and everyone in their own little box.
Again users can make mistakes and not think rationally at times and send inappropriate emails and later regret it and end up loosing their job. That just human nature that all we are imperfect humans beings except Jesus Christ. Phillip Bruce

I'd say that it's Microsoft keeping their users in a box by inventing non-standard features that I bet they are loathe to share with other vendors. But what do I know. I only worked in IT for 2 decades.
Thunderbird is a mail agent, not an email service. A "glorified wrapper" as you put it. It's designed to work was well as possible with a multitude of standards-based services, not to do everything for everybody. If you want a special, non-standard feature of a particular service, I wager you will be forced to use their "app" so they have total control of your usage and data. That's what they want.
Thunderbird is working on their own service offering to be called "Thunderbird Pro". ETA TBD. Maybe it will offer such a feature.

Old days witting wrappers were fairly common. Might be to extent today but likely not since structure coding has come a long way. But still my point i think your missing. Yes it is extremely embarrassing to send email with wrong messages. That is the purpose of having recall email. in this case we need to get Google, Yahoo to do similar feature of that. I can put that in to those vendors but just for me not enough to push the big boys around to say GETTER DONE! It's not going to happen. If we all want something we should push and many here likely use Thunderbird to consolidate all their different emails they use. BTW I do enjoy Thunderbird a lot. Been using it for nearly 2 decades. Jus5 like see that. it be nice to see what features you guys are planning on and let the community thinks about that as it might foster more priorities for guys. I can't WAIT to see what you guys do when Thunderbird mail gets released. can't wait to fully get off GMAIL. So maybe we can put google of it's own earth map.
