I have an account on Ubuntu that has several mailboxes. I need to shift (migrate) this to a new computer with Debian 13. So far I have tried to follow the idea of copying the hidden thunderbird folder. When I start Thunderbird it has a "Setup your existing email address" page.

This is not easy.

I have managed to do it through the help and account settings. I needed to force the profile changes. Don't ask me how ! What a journey.

If you do manage to document it, please let us know.

Hi Wayne,

As it turns out I will have to do it again. I'm trying to migrate across from Ubuntu Mate to Debian 13 and all goes well until I start installing some extra software. Something is treading on my printer install and buggering up the printing. Initially I thought it was the dual desktop install (Gnome and Plasma) but it looks as though some other package is breaking my install.

So I keep going round the roundabout eh !

Sorry, I've had too many problems with Debian 13 and I'm giving up. Their user experience has some nasty sharp bits.
