Hello! I am an avid user of firefox (especially with adblockers) on a windows 11 PC. Unfortunately, I have recently been experiencing an issue where when I attempt to open firefox, a window will open for a split second before instantly closing again. My PC is up to date, I have tried refreshing firefox and doing a clean install, but cannot seem to overcome the issue, or even open it in safe mode. Does anyone have any advice? Many thanks in advance!

What security software besides MS Defender are you running? What version of Firefox? If Windows Pro version, try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) to see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/ Could also test with windows in Safe mode with networking

Hello, I have version 140.0.2 of firefox and no antivirus other than windows defender currently installed (looking to change that soon but wanted to fix this first). I am not on w11 pro either, so cannot test in VM. How do i test in safe mode with networking? Many thanks!

Win 11 safe mode.

Where did you get Firefox from?

I have tried clean installs from both the official site and microsoft store, both have the same issue

Ok this is going to sound really stupid but I honestly cannot find the exe file from my latest clean install (from the browser not the ms store) I have used the filepath C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Mozilla but as soon as I input mozilla nothing comes up. Any more ideas?

Check C:\Program Files\Firefox

Thank you very much, changing the .exe name seems to have worked! Anyone know if I can still add it as a default app though?
