Emails not displaying in Thunderbird

After updating Thunderbird per yahoo recent instructions (deleting email account & reinstalling), my received emails display in yahoo but not in Thunderbird. Thunderbird displays it is receiving emails and the account receiving the email, but does not store them for display.
