[Thunderbird 102.0.3] Choosing "Archive" always creates a folder

more options

Hello,

I'm using Thunderbird 102.0.3 on Windows and I'm having a problem I did not have with previous versions.

I changed the path for the archives on a specific account (and changed to a folder only), but when I archive an email - Thunderbird still creates the default folder and adds an yearly subdomain.

Have tried multiple times, always get the same result.

Is this a bug? Anyone else has the same problem?

Are you talking about a POP or IMAP mail ascount or are you using 'Local Folder' mail account?

re: I changed the path for the archives on a specific account (and changed to a folder only),

Useful if you tell us what you chose - an image is the best way of communicating this. Did you choose 'Other' and select folder on account name

re : but when I archive an email - Thunderbird still creates the default folder and adds an yearly subdomain.

Did you set up Archive options ?

re :Is this a bug? Anyone else has the same problem? I would need to know your exact setup - type of account, what folder and where, what you set up for Archive Options in order for me to recreate the same for testing.

For some reason it fixed itself, now I could Archive the emails and it went directly to the right folder

I have the same problem. I have selected under the question "When archiving messages, place them in:" the options "A single folder"

But when I right click on a message and select "Archive", instead of putting the message in the flat location under "Archives", it puts it under the folder "Archives/2022". Same behavior if I click on the "Archive" button.

I am using (my own) IMAP. I left the default "Keep message archives in: "Archivess" Folder on: *my imap account".
