Having issues when typing or trying to format text in the body of emails
I keep having very odd issues when trying to write emails:
Sometimes when typing an email there is a lag, where it can't keep up with my typing.
If I go to edit anything in an email I'm writing and I highlight text and start typing, it sometimes will not replace the text that was highlighted. It will shove the text I typed into some other part of the sentence.
Then starting today, if I highlight text and hit the "BOLD" button, it just deletes the highlighted text. Nothing is bold, just deletes the text.
These aren't really things I can show with a screenshot, so not really sure how to demonstrate. But no other programs on my computer have this issue, only Thunderbird.

First thing to try is safe mode: hold Shift when you launch TB, and see if performance is changed. What's your version of TB? What is the security setup, i.e. your AV program, is it scanning email?
Safe mode doesn't seem to fix it. Highlighting text and hitting bold still deletes the text.
Running 60.9.0, says it is up to date.
Do not have an AV program other than standard Win 10 Security.
I'll try these standard diagnostics.
So, I just figured out that the bold issue only happens in one specific email that I've been trying to modify and forward today. So nevermind about that. I will just have to recreate that one from scratch.
I will do the diagnostics and test to see if the other issues can be resolved.
re :Sometimes when typing an email there is a lag, where it can't keep up with my typing.
If you have a setting that auto saves as a draft, then the draft file will get updated. If you have your AV ( Win 10 Security) intervening by scanning opened files then it could cause a lag. In addition if it is an imap account then there is also jibber jabber with server. Suggest you make thunderbird folders exempt from scanning to see if this improves things.
