So when i hit search in google on my search bar i'd get a google.ca search result (i'm canadian) now it's just dot com.

Hi, separate security issue, please update your Flash 27.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.171 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Hi, am in BC so ya Google.com is what you get. I use a Great Briton browser release and a Canadian Dictionary. So ya no choice but for myself it is better search results or just add at the end of your search words +Canada or your Province.

You do not mention from what you updated from so a little hard to say on things. I would thing around 56.

Go to the Gear Icon when you open a New Tab and click the Gear and untick show Sponsored stuff is there some where, you can also add Search to the page. Will figure it out once see it. Turn it all off you do not want to use it. I do not use it. Um there is a great Extension though that would suit you : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

If need more info please ask .

Yeah I already did that turn off the ads nonsense. Also you know what version of flash I'm running? I didn't know my profile displayed that.

But the older version of firefox supported google.ca. I'm not getting a plugin to be able to use google.ca this stuff is nonsense. Even with the tab adjustments I still don't get a nice layout. I'm about ready to switch browsers at this point. And i've been a die hard firefox fan boy since way way back in like firefox 5 days. Or earlier. Way before chrome existed. But this stuff is getting stupid.

Again I shouldn't have to mod and do all this stuff to regain default settings. It's a step backwards imo. I just want google.ca as my search and the old tabs back.

Since there is no Canadian locale of Firefox as you can see at www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ you are likely using en-US Firefox.

Perhaps to make sure you are getting google.ca when using the search bar (and not going directly to google.ca) you can add a Google Canada search engine to the Search Bar. http://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=google.ca
