Why can't I download the new version without installing that automatically ?
Earlier it was possible to download a new version as an independant file without running an installation, but not any more. Now I can only pres the button "update" wihtout knowing what I am downloading what are the changes on this new version, nothing.

It has always been to download the installer and run it. Are you getting your program from Mozilla.org ?
