I want to sync an email account across two workstations

I have a client that has an email account that he wants to sync across two laptops. In other words, he wants to see exactly the same thing in the Inbox, Sent, etc., on both laptops. IS this possible? I have seen some things about using IMAP. I'm looking into it, but I believe the email domain might only allow or use POP3? For instance, currently, if he replies to a particulal email, he will only see it in T-bird on the laptop that he sent the reply from. He'd like to see it on both. Also, there are a lot of older emails that appear in the Inbox on the older of the two laptops that are not there on the newer one. (I'm assuming that has to do with POP3 vs. IMAP?) Any help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

He needs IMAP. If his present email provider won't offer this, serious consideration should given to opening an account with an email provider who does.

It's very likely that the old account could be mapped through the new, so he needn't lose use of a long established email address.

THANK YOU! I am going to say this is Resolved. I did find out that the provider DOES have the option for IMAP. I will try that; if it doesn't work, I will re-post the question.
