Could anyone please tell me how to auto reply emails without this beeing aded by thunderbird?

Over the past few weeks, my main gmail/googlemail account emails, from all sources, only appear every few days. I've seen it take up to 6 days, and then they all come in at once. This doesn't help if one of them contains a link that expires in 3 hours! It's only the google account that does this. The others work normally.

As per the title: I shut down my laptop one night, normally, and the following day Thunderbird.exe was nowhere to be found (changed or moved according to the error message). Nevertheless there's a .bak file in the TB folder that I assume (hope) may have something to do with it. Any ideas, old chums and chumettes?

Meanwhile I have to see if I can change the email address associated with this membership/account. The old one was hacked (Russia) in order to steal £hundreds from me via PayPal.

I just bought a new laptup- UX5401 ZA with an i9 processor. I upgraded from Win 11 Home to Win 11 pro. I have the newest Gdata Internet security installed.

I then installed a fresh TB 102.0 64bit and added all my email account manually one by one. All are IMAP accounts.

Synchronisation of all accounts worked.

But as soon as I launch now TB, after a 2 clicks on different inboxes, TB freezes. I have then to kill it with STRG-ALT-Del.

I tried it already with starting TB without addons, disabled email protection within Gdata etc. etc. No success. No matter what I try, TB freezes after a few seconds. All other software works fine.

Is TB not compatible with Win 11?

Does anybody knows how to make this work?

Prior to 102 deleting a message (with setting to "just mark as deleted" ) would put a red icon at the beginning of the Subject in the message list. Not there after updating to 102. Just a line-through which is hard to see... Is there a setting to get that red icon back?

My version of Thunderbird is 102.0. I keep getting the message that Thunderbird cannot up date to the latest version download a new Thunderbird. The older versions were able to update when Thunderbird program was opened. Is there something I should be doing ? Thanks for your help

I posted this question yesterday but had to reset my password and I do not know whether my original question has been lost etc. I also think I should mention that I am using a Mac desktop computer using macOS Big Sur Version 11.6.7. Two issues which started at the same time we started using Thunderbird Version 102.0: a) I and my wife are both losing messages. The body of the message is completely empty although the email provider's website still has the complete message. b) We both use the "fetch headers only" option but Thunderbird Version 102.0 ignores this option and downloads the entire message. I use an iMac with OS 12.4 (Monterey). A subfolder named "Family" under Local Folders and the subfolders within "Family" have disappeared. I read a few of the solutions but cannot understand well enough what to do. I do see the folders on my computer just not in Thunderbird. Would someone please tell me how to get these folders to show up in Thunderbird again? I need someone to tell me step by step and not use any abbreviations. I am 64 and this old brain isn't what it used to be. Thank you.

I have configured an O365 account in Thunderbird(v102), macOS using the OWL Plugin, and want to download all the messages(along with attachments) on the server. The common answer I found on the forums is to go to the "Account Settings" > "Sync & Storage" section for the account you want to download all messages.

I can see this option for my Gmail ID, but not for my Office 365 ID!

It certainly has not downloaded all the emails, evident by my Profile Folder's storage utilization. Is there any way to download all of those emails, locally!! I have tried : - Going offline > Then selecting download everything before going offline. - Selecting "Don't delete any messages" under "Local Folders"

Since updating to Thunderbird 102.0, it no longer is downloading new messages and is downloading duplicate old messages (POP) instead. Also, message filter has stopped working all messages are downloaded to my inbox instead of directed folders.

I have tried restarting to no avail. Thunderbird has been very reliable in the past. I can't understand why it is suddenly acting weird. The only thing that I noticed when the update was happening is that it appeared to update twice.

Hi TB supporters,

Running MacOS Catalina (10.15) with TB102 setup as IMAP. When I add a column or change their left to right sequence or change which columns are displayed -- any such changes to the Inbox or any other mailbox -- the changes disappear after going to another mailbox and then returning to the mailbox that was changed.

For example, with Inbox selected, clicked the "Select columns to display" button and added Recipient by checking it in the dropdown list. As expected, Recipient immediately appeared in the Inbox window. Then I switched from Inbox to Sent mailbox. Upon switching back to Inbox, the Recipient column was momentarily present, but a second later the window self-refreshed and Recipient disappeared. At this point the "Select columns" dropdown showed Recipient to be unchecked.

This is a brand new install and setup of TB on a brand new internal drive partition on a 2012 Macbook Pro.

Maybe there is a Config I can modify? Can anyone replicate this issue? All suggestions appreciated.

Is there a way to bulk delete only unread messages, leaving only messages I've actually read in place? I've been using thunderbird for many years and have many many thousands of messages, most of which are unread because I chose to ignore them. Is there a way to kill them all without losing the messages I have read? I can select ALL or none. Is there a way to select only unread messages for deletion?
