When my email downloads it has always downloaded by date, i.e., all emails download together at the end of my list of emails. Two days ago my new emails just began to download randomly in my inbox. They're just scattered among all my collected emails in a very random fashion. I'm afraid this is going to cause me to not see some of my emails. I've scrolled through all of the tools/help options and can't figure out how to change back to the way I used to receive emails.

Starting Thunderbird after a few days, I see none of my folders and in fact my entire email account. Instead I see "Local Folders" and below it "Trash" and "Outbox." There is no trace of any of my emails in any of my folders or in inbox. I would appreciate any help or insight about what has happened. I believe Thunderbird has updated (to 102.5.1 64-bit), but I am not sure.

I have always had images that were pulled into a signature from an https location and worked fine for years. With 102.5.1, all of those images stopped working. I had to move them local and change the signature HTML.

Is anyone else having problems with signature images referenced with a URL no longer working?

Good morning.

I installed Thunderbird 102.5.1 (64-bit) as a replacement for Outlook 2010, that was getting too old and doesn't connect to some email services.

Everything went OK, but when I opened a saved eml file and wanted to save it with a different name, the "File/Save as/File..." menu just ignores me and does nothing.

Using the "Save as..." button on the button strip at the top of the message also does nothing.

How can I make it work?

PS: Maybe this was asked and answered before, but the search engine isn't capable of distinguishing between "save as" and "save", giving me thousands of results that are not related to my problem.

I cannot close the Message Filters window and I can't close a filter if I look at it to edit.

My filters aren't working correctly. They are filtering things to the wrong folders and to wrong folders in other accounts. I opened the Tools filters in an account to check it's filters and was able to open the list of filters for that account. I then opened the first filter to Edit to see if I needed to change something in it to work correctly.

I cannot edit the filter and I cannot close the filter's Edit window to see the rest of the list. There is no Save button at the bottom of the Edit filter either.

Why are the filters moving things to the wrong folders (sometimes multiple copies of a message to different folders and accounts)? Why can't I edit a filter? Why can't I close the windows?

I have emails stored in local files, which have attachments of a word document. If I want to open them, by double click, I get a unreadable character mix. If I decide to store the attached document (on desktop) , and open it using Word-Software, the doc ist completely readable, as known at any time. Is this a new mistake? I remember, that few years ago opening a word document worked well. To open a attached word document actually received in the in-basket works well. Why ist there a difference? I use the RSS feature to monitor when someone mentions me on twitter. I subscribe to https://nitter.net/search/rss?f=tweets&q=%40my_twitter_handle for my different twitter handles and when there is a mention, the tweet appears under my Unified Folders as a new message that I can read, unread, tag etc like an email message. This is very useful because I don't have to check twitter all the time, and nitter standing in the middle also enhances privacy.

This works well with two of my three handles, but the third one generates duplicates all the time. I have been monitoring this for weeks and so far I got up to five copies of certain tweets. There is nothing unusual about this twitter account either. This looks like a bug as the other two handles work fine. Also, another RSS reader I use for comparison doesn't generate a single duplicate.

All folders and Calendar are missing.

I just cloned my old drive to a new SSD drive. Everything seems to work except there are no folders in the folder pane and the calendar is missing. View,folders set to all. Layout has the folder pane enabled. Account Settings lists all my accounts. Get Messages does not show any action on the status bar.

Any ideas?

Collecting more info: The only "live" buttons are Get Messages and Write. Get messages does nothing. Write will open the familiar write window and I can enter a "To" and Subject but I can't type in the message field.

hello, i am using thunderbird since years. i have several email accounts. at restart, i have to logon once and it is working until the laptop is shutdown. or ... it was working. to be noted: all accounts at hostmonster.

a few weeks ago i added an email address i use when working as freelancer. this account is "somewhere" within outlook/office365 = the company i work for.

after that setup was done, i have the problem that the login done for my "hostmonster" email accounts seems to be "lost" during the day. the automatic update of incoming emails stop working now-and-then. i am asked to logon again when checking if any new email. when sending email, hours after initial start of thunderbird, i have to login again ... and even worse, sometimes send messages fails to be saved in outgoing message folder.

i assume that this problem has to do with the newly added email account linked to the office365 account. i can receive and send messages and i have have to logon which is also somewhat strange.

please let em know what i did wrong... thanks in advance for advises

For the past few days I've noticed emails opened on new tab have the heading but the content was blank.

I've just tried searching for an important travel document that I had received and the search result came up with blank content also.

It was then that I realised ALL emails beyone the last few days have now gone. I looked in the profile folder and it's a small size, ie less than 32mb. I do have a backup from 12 months ago, which I tried to import and the messages from the backup don't show up either. It's like I didn't import them at all.

We're having a few difficulties here, with family members health etc, and my head is already spinning, so this is something I don't need at this time, as you can imagine.

My ability to delete stops after a few successful deletes. Button does not work, nor does delete from a right click menu nor from the keyboard delete nor does dragging the email to trash.

I must close the program and restart it to get the function to work again. And then it only works for a short while.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

TB "not responding" [was *.msf]

I have 3042 *.msf files going back to 03/22/2010. I hope I never have to go back to 2013 to check on what I did or did not do in those files. Using Thunderbird 102.2.2, Windows 10 with mail server on Ionos.com using an 8800L Verizon jetpack I get pop ups when I want to quit TB saying TB not responding. Could it be *.msf files are taking up space? Also I think there should be a warning, unless I missed it, when deleting Thunderbird 102.2.2 other day thinking it might help doing a reload so Thunderbird will respond I see where I lost all my junk mails to block. All gone. Looks like I am going to have to start over blocking them. If there is something that will cause something else to occur with deleting *msf files please let me know. Thanks

I tried looking for previous versions of this problem/question, but I didn't find any.

When I delete emails from a particular folder, the status bar shows they are moved to Trash. Then they are automatically moved back to the same folder! I select these emails and then hit the Delete key on my keyboard. They disappear and the status bar message says they are being moved to the Trash folder. OK, that sounds good. However, it seems the emails that are now "new" to the Trash folder are treated by Thunderbird as if they are new mail. Thus, my filters for my new email automatically process them. The deleted emails are moved back into the folder where the filter had previously put them. How do I fix this?

T-bird version 102.5.1 (32-bit) Windows 10 Home, version 21H2

I am using TB 102 32 bit. I recently noticed that in "vertical layout" my address books display with contact names superimposed over the next contacts email address making it difficult to read. If I switch to horizontal layout there is no problem. Any suggestions to fix gratefully received.

In 102.5.0 and all versions I have had thus far of Thunderbird I have the usual search, plus the "filter these messages" search box underneath on the toolbar.

Until very recently I could go into any folder and just put a word and it would do a search of that folder, but has stopped doing that now. I can be in same folder and put a name and that works fine.

Does anyone know how I can get the normal response that I have had for many, many years please?

I have seen similar questions asked online, and the answer seems always to be "delete session.json and everything will be good". I did that (made sure I was using the actual profile folder), reopened TB, opened an email into a tab, closed TB, and when I restart, the tab is gone.

The interesting thing is that if I leave the settings or address book tabs open, they get restored when I reopen TB. But not the emails I want to keep open.

I looked in the settings - there used to be a setting about "reopen tabs on restart" or something. I can't find it now.
