How to save username and password for proxy?

martin.hruska beantwortet

I'm using Firefox 41 for Linux 64 bit and I need to communicate over a proxy requiring authentication. I have to enter username and password after each start of Firefox. I found at this forum that setting of the following things in about:config would help but it does not:

network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies : false network.proxy.share_proxy_settings  : false network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies : false network.auth.use : false signon.autologin.proxy : true

So is there any way how to save the credentials to avoid repeated prompting for them in each new Firefox session?

Thank you for your help, Martin

I figured out the solution by myself. The address of proxy was unfortunately added to list of sites for which passwords are not remembered. After removing the proxy address from this list, I am able to save username and password using Password manager.
