As has been reported also on the add-on author's website, with the advent of Thunderbird version 38, the incredibly useful Quicktext add-on no longer works.

I rely on this add-on every day, and need to either get a link to reinstall a previous version of Thunderbird or better still the problem will be fixed.

The best I can suggest is the index of previous versions. It is the add on authors responsibility to keep their software up to date. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/
