Get mail from an old profile.

Good Day,

I had an IMAP account for a company I used to work for. I removed the account through Thunderbird and the company has removed my account on their servers. The profile is still on my computer and has all the information that I can access through a text editor. For instance, there's a 350 MB "Inbox" file that has all the messages from my inbox.

I'd like to look at this information in Thunderbird, though. In other posts, the solution is to create an account. That's not possible as when I try to do this, my username and password get rejected.

Is there a way to import this profile or at least few the messages in the text files in Thunderbird?

Thanks,

-Brian

I'd use ImportExportTools and import the mailbox files from the old profile into Local Folders. Then you can browse them without any need to connect to any server.

The files you have are caches, generated by Thunderbird to speed up browsing; when you look at a message, it's much faster to show you the local cached copy than fetch the original from the server. So the messages saved in the cache may not be comprehensive nor complete. But there should still be a lot of useful material there.
