It's a weird and somewhat inconsistent problem. I'm using firefox 37.0.1. Operating system is Windows 8. Both examples are happening on my lenovo desktop and my lenovo laptop, both of which were purchased in the last 2 months.

Here are times it's occurred:

---saving information into insightly (CRM). I click SAVE on the record and the page spins and spins and spins (little green circle on the browser tab) incessantly, eventually locking up the page, while it's still spinning. I have to shut everything down, AND clean my cache and cookies for it to be set to rights.

If I do manage to close the Insightly window, nothing else works right. If I simply close all my windows and reopen a window without cleaning my computer - nothing functions. Reload a page doesn't reload. Logging into a page won't log me in. Sometimes it spins and nothing. Sometimes the whole thing freezes. This happens EVERY TIME I go to insightly. It's not insightly - I just tested IE and ironically, no problem. IE problems are - ironically - why I started using firefox last year.

---making changes to my email on sbcglobal.net - I want to move multiple messages to another folder - but i always can't do it. The page spins and spins and nothing happens. This is sporadic. Sometimes it executes; sometimes it doesn't. Nevertheless, eventually everything gets screwed up and like above, I have to close all, clean up, start over.

I'll go back to IE before I use Chrome.

Some processes take a while to complete and sometimes we just have to wait for the server to complete the action.

Have you tried these troubleshooting steps:

Thanks, but that initial explanation doesn't help. It's got nothing to do with processes taking longer to complete, because what's happening is in marked aberration to what normally happens and with how the action is supposed to happen. I"ll check out the link.

I forgot to mention that when I close everything down - with NO BROWSER WINDOW OPEN - ccleaner from piriform tells me firefox is open and asks me if I want it closed. If I don't clean, and just try opening a new window, FIREFOX says it already has one open. Both ask me if I want firefox force close.

Seems to me it's clearly a firefox issue. It doesn't happen in IE on either computer.

Thanks

Sounds like a shutdown hang that never completes. It normally will end and create a crash report. For further investigation can you please see if there are any crash reports in about:crashes, submit and copy the "bp-" signatures.
