As far as I can tell, my Firefox sync interval is set to 15 minutes (i.e. 600000 milliseconds), which is WAY too frequent for me. I want to change my Mozilla sync interval to once a day (i.e. 86400000 milliseconds). I followed the instructions below, but when I close and restart Firefox the interval I had set is changed back to what it was before.

Please help.

Thanks you!

Fritzman

Instructions: 1) Type “about:config” at the address bar 2) Search for “services.sync.syncInterval” 3) Change the value from 3600000 (milliseconds = 3600 seconds = 60 minutes) to any value (in millisecond) of your choice 4) Close and restart Firefox

I don't know whether that preference is still the important one...

If this is a preference you can truly control (i.e., it is not recomputed by Firefox at startup based on network conditions or other factors), there are many possible reasons that Firefox might not be saving your change or that it might get reverted after Firefox makes the change. This article has a pretty comprehensive discussion: How to fix preferences that won't save. Also, if you use Advanced SystemCare or other programs that protect you from unwanted browser settings changes, you may need to turn off that feature in order to save settings changes.

The services.sync.syncInterval pref is set from services.sync.scheduler.fxa.singleDeviceInterval*1000, so can't be modified.

Thank you for your time and responses. I thought there would be a quick fix, but apparently it's very complicated or not fixable at all. Thanks again!

Forgot to mention I'm giving up on the issue. Case closed.
