I keep getting this message when using Chatgpt: "This page is slowing down firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page." When this happens I have to click stop which wipes the whole chat. I've asked ChatGPT to not put in pictures as that seems to collapse the chat much earlier. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Rn it's the only thing stopping me from completely switching over to firefox. I would like to have desktop icons for each of my firefox profiles that let me sign in and continue with the selected profile. Chrome currently has a straight forward way to do this, I was wondering if firefox had the same support. I've attached a screenshot for context. TIA!

Hi, I have been using Firefox a lot in the past, mostly on macOS, without too much of a problem. A couple of years ago converted to chrome-based browser, not entirely sure, but I think it was mainly due to a couple of chrome add-ons that at that time I could not find a Firefox equivalent for.

I recently switched back to primarily using Firefox, mainly because it more lenient on my older cpu's. (less puffing and panting and fans spinning up)

Question: I would say I'm a fairly from left to right person in the sense that I expect new tabs to appear to the right. I have recently been struggling with Firefox: - mainly: when I e.g. want to drag out a tab to a new window, or use right-click on a tab, then "Move tab to new window", what often happens is that that specific tab, while moving, takes 5 other tabs with it - how can I disable or change this behaviour? - I have also experienced quite some times, e.g. I have several FF windows, working in one of them, and doing cmd-t to open a new tag, then the new tag opens, but jumps to some weird location, all be it in that same window, but definitely not to the right of the tab where the command was issued from.

I have the followin add-ons installed: - Detach Tab - Move Tab to new window and quite a couple of other that I guess are not tab related.

Thanks for helping out!

I have recently moved to Firefox and now am trying to customize my shortcuts (MacBook Air M1). The "Customize keyboard shortcuts" page doesn't open as shown with about:keyboard. However I find I can simply dismiss from the normal search page but need to limit the number of them as it seems to be going through the whole list of recent searches! Thanks for any help you might have,

whenever I try to set a passkey in mozilla, the windows security popup appears. I have looked online about turning it off but I cannot find anything. For example, I cannot set my passkey for my gmail account because the popup and gives no other options. When I select 'try another way', all they want is my password so the passkey does not get set.

Although I have Firefox (on Windows 11)

Settings | Permissions | Autoplay

set to block audio & video as the default for all sites, no exceptions listed, nevertheless one site (the NY Times, but possibly others) shows videos that sometimes appear to stall the browser. One address in particular seems to do this. Here is a sample line:

Is there a way to prevent it from getting around the blocking?

I'm an Admin for a Flickr group that requires Admin or Moderator approval for a photo to be admitted to our pool of members' photos. This approval process requires me to view a list of 100 photos, opening them one photo at a time.

I use FireFox to open each photo in a new window, review the photo, close the new window, and either accept or deny the photo in the list, at which point that photo is removed from the original list whereupon I review the next. When that list is empty, a new list appears showing the next 100 or so photos.

Typically, the number of photos that require approval is around 150 each day, but can be as many as 300 or 400.

This had been operating quite well for years, but after the two last updates, the operation has been plagued with 404 errors after reviewing from 90 to 120 photos. As a result, for weeks, I haven't been able to complete this process using FireFox and had to resort to Edge to finish it.

I've also seen a similar problem when reviewing photos in Google's Image Search, so this isn't a result of any changes Flickr might have made. FireFox is the problem.

BTW, I'm using the current version of FireFox on a Win10 computer, in the unlikely circumstance that it makes any difference.
