I am running the latest Firefox on an XP Professional box. Sometimes the add-ons load, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I cannot fire up Firefox, so I leave it running all day.

What is wrong here, please?

Thanks....

This happened

A few times a week

When you say "Sometimes I cannot fire up Firefox", do mean that no Firefox window appears at all? See Firefox won't start - find solutions

For cases where add-ons don't load, perhaps you are accidentally starting in Safe Mode? See Firefox is stuck in Troubleshoot Mode

Sometimes, firefox.exe will not fire up at al.

This computer has never been in safe mode.

Any suggestions?

For clarification, Firefox Safe Mode and Windows Safe Mode are two different things. (Go to Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode) )

Do none of the solutions in the Firefox won't start - find solutions article work for you?

Right, Firefox Safe Mode and Windows Safe Mode are two different things. Thanks for checking, though.

Have even gone the distance and uninstalled Firefox, and installed again later. Nothing.

https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+will+not+start#There_was_an_error_launching_the_application This only addresses a failed shortcut. Drilling down in Program Files, to the exe, still nothing.

So, still stuck in the mud here.

That section "There_was_an_error_launching_the_application" is for Linux users. Search the article for the text "Show content customized for", and set it to Windows.

Still have the same problem.
