Firefox's performance keeps getting worse. I have to clear the startup cache several times a day just to get any sort of decent performance! Reinstalling hasn't helped, and disabling add-ons hasn't provided a solution either. Has anyone else experienced this, and/or does anyone have a solution to the problem?

Clearing the startup cache several times a day isn't normal, so I'd try creating a fresh Firefox profile through about:profiles and testing it without importing old data. Also check about:processes when performance starts dropping to see whether a tab or process is using excessive memory or CPU. That should help narrow down whether it's your profile or something else.
