The built-in features are on the History menu. There is a History menu on either:

  • Graphical application menu, accessed using the "3-bar" menu button at the right end of the main toolbar
  • Classic top menu bar -- you can tap the Alt key or the F10 key to activate the bar if you normally keep it hidden

"Restore Previous Session" is the main command, and then the menu should show up to 3 closed windows and in each window up to 10 closed tabs from your previous session.

To set Firefox to start up with your previous session every time, see: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

I am not aware of using right-click to view your previous session.

If you were using the Session Manager extension, do you still have it installed?

You can view, enable/disable, and often remove extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then check the list on the right side. Any disabled extensions cluster at the bottom.

If you used the Firefox Refresh feature:

That would explain why the Session Manager extension was removed.

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
