Can't get Sync to work on my Mac

more options

My Mac Air died and I bought a new one today (up to date everything, including the latest El Capitan incarnation). I already had Firefox Sync on both the old (dead) laptop, and my Samsung Galaxy 6 Android.

I had trouble getting in with my old password, but successfully reset that with the Android.

New install of Firefox on the Air refused to sync with the Android info. I've trashed and reinstalled FF three times now on the new Air - and I mean a thorough scrub and reinstall, including profile.

My sign-in is successful. It recognizes me and says it will be "syncing momentarily". That message disappears, with nothing having synced. I click the Sync icon to manually get it going. It animates for a fraction of a second, then stops. No bookmarks, no passwords.

Bookmarks and passwords are intact on the Android.

What can I do?

Annnnnnnnd like unto a miracle: it works.

I reopened my laptop and all the passwords and tabs were in place.

So apparently the trick is to hit Sync and wait 24 hours.

Thanks!

Thanks, Azharul. I did check out that page, and both devices are current on Sync. Nothing else on the page speaks to the problem.

One slight change this morning: the Sync icon on the Mac animates with a bit more enthusiasm. It turns blue, and moves a bit more than yesterday. But passwords and bookmarks still aren't syncing, and I'm doing everything on the Mac manually.
