I am trying to change a Theme to a different scene or color and not sure what to do. When I click on "add to firefox," a bar on the top of the screen says.....THIS SITE ATTEMPTED TO INSTALL A THEME.........on the right side is another box that says..ALLOW. Should I click on the ALLOW box?

Hello,

If you are trying to install a theme, try to make sure that it is from:

Only "Allow" when you are getting the theme from a trusted source.

If you want to install a new lightweight theme (Persona) then you will have to allow that website to install a theme. You can set an allow extension for the addons.mozilla.org site to prevent having to do this all the time. Normally this allow exception should be present and set via the xpinstall.whitelist.add pref.

You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab
