I followed instructions for spell checker installation, but it doesn.t install. I have Windows 7. The problem appeared after an automatic update. I would appreciate any help.

Which spell checker? Which instructions? If you're trying to install a "spell checker" into Thunderbird you may be doing something inappropriate.

You don't need to install a spell checker into Thunderbird; it's built in.

What you do need to get is a dictionary. Using the built-in spell check will offer you a choice of languages and take you to a website where you can find more dictionaries.
